Kurzbeschreibung

Realistic Mathematics Education, widely respected throughout the world as an exemplary approach to mathematics education, is a Dutch approach to design of curriculum, assessment and instruction that has evolved over the last 40 years out of the work of Hans Freudenthal and research faculty at the Freudenthal Institute.

Themen

The 2011 RME conference will focus on learning progressions in mathematics and the design and use of learning trajectories. Plenary and interactive breakout sessions will explore the research on learning progressions in mathematics and the design of instructional sequences that engage the mathematical reasoning of all learners.

Programmkomitee

The program will include keynote speakers:

  • Doug Clements
  • Koeno Gravemeijer
  • Bill Jacob
  • and an expanded program of 90 minute breakout sessions offered by research faculty and teachers from the United States and abroad who have engaged in design and use of instructional sequences to support understanding of mathematics from early elementary education through undergraduate mathematics.
